Q. I have been told that loose covers are very expensive to make. Is this so?

A. Traditionally they have been because they are very time consuming to make. Since we have been making our own loose covers in-house we have brought the labour costs down very considerably - by as much as half that which we had been charging in some cases.

Q. Can I supply my own fabric?

A. No. For two reasons: 1) We cannot keep our labour costs down if we accepted customer fabric and 2) We cannot do justice to the end result if we don't have control of the fabric types and 3) We cannot take the risk of error and the need for remake with a customer's fabric which has been purchased retail elsewhere.

Q. You call your covers machine washable. Is this really true?

A. With some conditions, yes they are machine washable. If we have supplied the fabric in preshrunk form we will launder on your behalf and guarantee the outcome.

Q. I already have loose covers. Will you wash them for me?

A. Yes but with all care, no responsibility conditions.

Q Is it expensive to have loose covers cleaned?

A. To wash a sofa cover and two seat cushion covers is $51 which is about 30% less than commercial laundry charges.

Q. Will I need to iron my covers after washing?

A. Unless you are very fussy about the look, no, ironing is not necessary.

Q. I recently bought a lounge suite but I made a mistake with the fabric. Are loose covers a possible solution?

A. By having loose covers, you still retain all the original upholstery coverings and, with the very low prices paid for used furniture, it is by far the most economic option.

Q. Should I recover or have loose covers?

A. We used to say that you either like the look of loose covers or you don't. Make your choice accordingly. But now, our loose covers are much more tailored and with very real cost savings. Add the additional benefit of easy cleaning and the decision is not so clear cut one way or the other.
